The Festival is a celebration of Wilmington's exceptional artwork, gardens, rich history and culture during its five days of entertainment that includes: a parade, street fair, circus, concerts, pageantry, and all that is Southern.

North Carolina Azalea Festival Princess Pageant.
This event is held at Kenan Auditorium on the campus of UNCW. Each year, the Festival Committee awards scholarship funds to five young ladies. The winner of the pageant becomes the Azalea Festival Princess, our only year-long representative of the Festival! |

Introduction of special guests and celebrities who arrive aboard the Henrietta III, including the Queen who will officially be crowned Queen Azalea at Wilmington's Historic Riverfront Park.

Covering more than an acre of ground, the Cole Bros. Circus Big Top is a favorite event of the Festival. Its combination of costumed characters, acrobatics, clowns, and more draws packed crowds each year. Nonstop action fills the Big Top in this two-hour performance.
