The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) and Cape Fear Community College offers superior higher education, and entertainment and sporting events not available in many areas. Public, private, religious and charter schools provide a variety of educational choices for K-12th grade students.

Numerous civic organizations serve the area, many offering volunteer opportunities. And whatever your "special interest' may be, there is probably a club or group to join.
